Soluble Bitumen

Suluble Grads
Soluble bitumen, also known as cutback bitumen, is a form of bitumen that has been mixed with a solvent or petroleum distillate to make it more fluid for easier application. This type of bitumen is used in road construction, waterproofing, and industrial applications where heating is not practical.
There are different grades of soluble bitumen based on the type and amount of solvent used:
- Rapid Curing (RC): Contains a highly volatile solvent, evaporates quickly, ideal for spray applications.
- Medium Curing (MC): Has a moderate evaporation rate, used for road sealing and surface treatments.
- Slow Curing (SC): Includes a less volatile solvent, suitable for priming and mixing with aggregates.
Once the solvent evaporates, the bitumen regains its original properties, creating a durable and strong bond with surfaces. This makes it a convenient choice in situations where heating or emulsification isn’t feasible
